Our waxed canvas tank bag. It has double layered canvas on the outer surface, with "rare earth" magnets in the corners. It holds a 8.5" paperback, your phone, license & insurance card, and has a zipper pocket on the flap for smaller items. It will hold my gloves and glasses when I'm not riding, and my phone and wallet when I am. 12mm grommets on the sides so you can attach a shoulder strap, or use d hooks and attach it to your belt loops.
